The future of Fiat in America is rife with speculation. Although the storied Italian car brand remains active in global markets, here in the United States, the lineup is now down to a single model—the 500X. No one is certain if the brand will leave these shores or revive itself with new models. If it remains, small vehicles motivated by an electrified powertrain will likely comprise the lineup. For now, the diminutive 500X must carry the flag in the U.S. for the international automaker.

There are no changes to the Fiat 500X for 2023. The small, agile crossover, first introduced in 2015, stands apart from its subcompact crossover brothers with its European style reflected in its sheet metal and cabin. Available in three trim levels—Pop, Trekking, and Sport—a 177-horsepower, turbocharged 1.3-liter -cylinder engine with standard all-wheel drive powers the 500X. The 500X hasn’t changed much since its introduction, so its list of safety and infotainment technology features isn’t substantial. On the bright side, it’s easy to pick out the distinctive Fiat in a crowded parking lot.
