A refreshed Enclave SUV—the automaker’s largest model—headlines the changes to Buick’s lineup for 2022. The updated Enclave sports new styling while the interior gets a makeover with new features, materials, and technology. Otherwise, the 2022 model year is a relatively quiet one for Buick as the rest of the brand’s four-SUV lineup is essentially unchanged.

Buick’s flagship 3-row, 7-passenger Enclave large crossover gets a freshening for 2022 with sharper front and rear exterior styling and new wheel designs. Exterior lighting enhancements include new LED headlights, daytime running lights, and taillights. New comfort and convenience items on the 2022 Enclave include a new steering wheel, restyled center console with new shifter buttons, and revised seat trim, among other upgrades. A new wireless phone charger is now available, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. There’s also a new standard front camera system and an improved rear camera mirror. A rear pedestrian alert system is available and standard on higher trims. Three new extra-cost exterior paint colors also debut: Sage Metallic, Emperor Blue Metallic, and Cherry Red Tintcoat.
Like the vehicle itself, changes to the 2022 Buick Encore are small. There’s now only a single trim level (Preferred), both front seats gain seatback map pockets, and there’s a new electric heater. Perhaps the most significant change is that output from the standard, turbocharged 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine increases to 155 horsepower (from 138). Other than that, Buick’s best-seller is carried over for the 2022 model year.
Like its Encore doppelganger, the slightly larger Encore GX subcompact crossover SUV stands pat for the 2022 model year. The only change is four new extra-cost exterior paint colors: Cinnabar Metallic, Sapphire Metallic, Sunset Glow Metallic, and Rosewood Metallic. All sheet metal, mechanicals, standard and optional features, and specifications carry over unchanged from 2021, but, oddly, the price increases by $1,795.
The Envision compact SUV was all-new for 2021, getting fresh exterior styling as well as updated safety and driver-assistance tech. Unsurprisingly, the changes for the 2022 model year are minimal. The Sport Touring package (available on Preferred and Essence trims) now includes alloy sport pedals, and the front-seat headrests and floor mats feature an embroidered “ST” logo. The ST package also includes red seat stitching on the Essence. There’s also one new exterior paint color: Sapphire Metallic.
