Family sedans aren’t as popular as they used to be, but that’s not discouraging Toyota from introducing a ninth-generation 2025 Camry. It remains based on the same Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform as the previous model but gets a new look, interior, powertrain, and technology stack. As a result, the mostly redesigned 2025 Toyota Camry is ready to defend its turf in the midsize car segment.

Toyota will offer the 2025 Camry in LE, SE, XLE, and XSE trim levels. Each has a standard hybrid powertrain with a choice between front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). The previous base 4-cylinder and V6 engines are no longer available.

With the 2025 Camry, Toyota continues with what the automaker calls its “hammerhead” front styling theme. However, the new Camry’s face presents a fresh and clean appearance, making it less controversial.
All 2025 Camrys will have LED exterior lighting, but the XLE and XSE feature premium headlights and taillights. The Camry LE has 16-inch aluminum wheels, while the SE and XLE roll on 18-inch designs. The Camry XSE features an exclusive 19-inch wheel.
New paint colors include Ocean Gem and Heavy Metal. They join Ice Cap, Wind Chill Pearl, Celestial Silver, Underground, Midnight Black, Supersonic Red, and Reservoir Blue. You can still get a black roof with XSE trim, but only with selected paint colors.

Toyota says the 2025 Camry has an open-concept interior design with new seats providing improved comfort. Dual-zone automatic climate control and rear air conditioning vents are standard, with heated and ventilated front seats available on the XLE and XSE.
In the Camry LE, you’ll find a Black or Boulder interior color and detailing inspired by ocean waves. Moving up to the Camry XLE, the car offers leather and artificial suede Light Gray or Black seats. Quilted microfiber decorates the dashboard and door panels for a more upscale look.
The 2025 Camry SE features artificial leather and cloth upholstery in Black or Boulder with white accents. This sportier version of the Camry also includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel, paddle shifters, and aluminum pedal covers. With XSE trim, the Camry has leather in Black or Cockpit Red.
Standard and available upgrades for the XLE and XSE include:
Every 2025 Toyota Camry has a fifth-generation version of the Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5). Based on a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, it employs two electric motors and a third rear electric drive motor with the available AWD system.
According to Toyota, the THS 5 powertrain makes 225 horsepower in FWD and 232 in AWD versions. That’s more than the previous-generation 4-cylinder and hybrid models but less than the V6 engine supplied. Toyota promises a more satisfying sense of acceleration than the previous Camry Hybrid.
In addition, all trim levels benefit from a reworked suspension, offering claimed improvements in the ride and handling. The SE and XSE have a sport-tuned suspension in keeping with their sportier look and feel. Toyota also says it has revised the Camry’s braking system for 2025.
The new 2025 Camry gets the latest advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) from Toyota.
Packaged into the TSS 3.0 collection, they include:
In addition, TSS 3.0 adds Proactive Driving Assist to the 2025 Camry. This feature automatically brakes or steers to assist the driver in everyday driving situations and can reduce speed in curves. All 2025 Camrys also have blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic warning systems.
With XLE and XSE trim, a Premium Plus package installs:
Toyota equips the new Camry with standard digital instrumentation featuring a 7-inch display with LE and SE trim and a 12.3-inch display with XLE and XSE trim.
In addition, Toyota Audio Multimedia is standard in the 2025 Camry. That next-generation infotainment system has an 8-inch touchscreen in the LE and SE and a 12.3-inch touchscreen in the XLE and XSE. Over-the-air updates keep the technology current.
Toyota Audio Multimedia highlights include:
In addition, several connected service plans are standard in the 2025 Camry. They come with complimentary service subscriptions, which vary depending on the plan. Afterward, you must pay for the service.
The new Camry’s connected service plans include:
In addition, the new Camry has a standard wireless smartphone charger plus two front and two rear USB-A and USB-C ports. A 9-speaker JBL premium sound system is an available upgrade.
When the new 2025 Toyota Camry goes on sale in the spring of 2024, it will face several rivals. They include the Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Kia K5, and Nissan Altima. The futures of the Chevrolet Malibu and Subaru Legacy are in doubt, but they might also serve as viable alternatives.
