2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Preview

Exterior FeaturesFor 2013, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe is restyled from the windshield forward, and LED running lights are available as an option. The new taillights feature LED illumination, the 18- and 19-inch alloy wheels are restyled, and there are seven new colors available.

Interior Features

Improved interior materials and updated controls are added to the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe's cabin this year. Among the new features are electroluminescent gauges, tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, lumbar support for the driver, and Blue Link telematics with three levels of service.

For additional luxury features, the 2.0T Premium and 3.8 Grand Touring trim levels have leather seats, automatic climate control, navigation system, Infinity premium sound system, and keyless entry with push-button ignition.

Optional Features

Hyundai offers buyers six trim levels from which to choose. Enthusiast drivers are likely to gravitate to the R-Spec models, while buyers seeking a full roster of standard features may want to consider the 2.0T Premium or 3.8 Grand Touring trims. The Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track combines performance upgrades with numerous standard features.

Under the Hood

Any 2013 Genesis Coupe with a "2.0T" badge is equipped with a turbocharged, 274-horsepower, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. A "3.8" badge indicates that a 348-horsepower V-6 engine resides under the hood. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard on all models, with an 8-speed automatic transmission available as an option.

Fuel Economy

As this preview is written, Hyundai is reporting preliminary, not final, fuel economy estimates:

• Genesis Coupe 2.0T with manual transmission: 21/30 mpg (city/highway)
• Genesis Coupe 2.0T with automatic transmission: 20/31 mpg
• Genesis Coupe 3.8 with manual transmission: 18/27 mpg
• Genesis Coupe 3.8 with automatic transmission: 18/28 mpg

Safety

The 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is equipped with six standard air bags, traction and stability control, and 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with brake assist. Blue Link telematics is standard and includes a free 90-day subscription to Automatic Crash Notification service, among other safety-related features. Reverse parking sensors are optional on the new Genesis Coupe.
