2016 GMC Ratings, Reviews and Awards

In 2016, GMC breathed new life into a tired category with the introduction of a 2.8-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine on the 2016 Canyon. The Duramax diesel engine offered impressive fuel economy (for a pickup truck), getting up to 31 mpg/highway. The engine is capable of towing up to 7,700 pounds. Also getting an update for 2016 was the Terrain, the company's compact crossover SUV. The 2016 Terrain featured updated front and rear fascias, new wheel designs, and additional color choices. Higher level trims also received LED daytime running lamps. Optional safety features such as Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Side Blind Zone alert were also added to higher trim levels. Other models in the GMC lineup saw minor updates in 2016, such as the addition of a WiFi hotspot and OnStar 4G LTE connectivity in all 2016 Acadia models.
