Honda Adds New Sport-L Trim To The 2024 CRV Line

Dustin Hawley | Jun 16, 2023

The 2024 Honda CR-V, a perennial favorite among Honda’s lineup of SUVs, is set to grace dealerships starting June 14. With a refreshed lineup that includes a brand-new hybrid-electric powered Sport-L trim, Honda aims to amplify the vehicle’s appeal among youthful and adventure-seeking buyers. The Honda CR-V, famous for its consistent best-seller status in Honda's SUV range, offers three turbocharged versions: LX, EX, and EX-L, and three hybrid variants: Sport, the fresh Sport-L, and Sport Touring. A testament to Honda's electrification efforts, hybrid-electric models now constitute over half of all CR-V sales.

Following its overhaul in the 2023 model year, the award-winning 6th generation CR-V continues to charm with a robust and refined exterior, a sporty, contemporary interior, and an engaging, adventurous driving experience. The starting MSRP of the 2024 Honda CR-V LX 2WD stands at $29,500, excluding the $1,295 destination charge. The hybrid-electric lineup begins with the 2024 CR-V Sport 2WD, priced at an MSRP of $33,350.

Nestled between the turbocharged CR-V EX-L and the top-of-the-line Sport Touring hybrid, the new hybrid-electric powered 2024 CR-V Sport-L 2WD enters the lineup at $36,350 MSRP. The generously equipped Sport-L variant boasts leather seats, a power passenger seat, front and rear parking sensors, a power tailgate, and a 9-inch touchscreen with a physical volume knob. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, Qi-compatible 15W wireless smartphone charging, an 8-speaker audio system, and Low Speed Braking Control come standard.

To enhance its curb appeal, the CR-V Sport-L trim includes glossy black exterior accents, rectangular exhaust finishers, and Berlina Black 18-inch wheels. Honda's award-winning Real Time All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Control™ is an available option for better handling in varied driving conditions.

The CR-V hybrid models underscore Honda’s commitment to electrification. These models boast Honda's advanced 4th-generation two-motor hybrid system, contributing to over half of CR-V sales. This hybrid system delivers a combined output of 2044 hp and 247 lb.-ft. of torque, promising a fuel-efficient yet sporty driving experience.

The hybrid powertrain offers a significant fuel economy rating boost compared to the 1.5L Turbo powertrain, with an EPA city rating of 43 mpg for the Sport and Sport-L models, compared to the 28 mpg for the EX/EX-L. The combined rating is 40 mpg for the Sport and Sport-L versions versus 30 mpg for the EX/EX-L (all with 2WD).

Being America's top-selling SUV for the past quarter-century and Honda's best-selling vehicle every year since 2017, the CR-V continues its successful journey.
