When the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla debuted, it immediately became a legend among Toyota enthusiasts because of its strong performance and extremely low production numbers. The Japanese automaker announced a production increase for 2024, but it remains to be seen if that will meet the seemingly overwhelming demand for the car. Even so, the automaker is planning a special-edition GR Corolla for the 2024 model year that brings an exclusive blue color, lightweight wheels, and improved aerodynamic bodywork.
In addition to the carryover Ice Cap exterior paint color, the 2024 GR Corolla Circuit Edition is now available in a unique Blue Flame hue. It also features standard lightweight forged aluminum 18-inch wheels from the 2023 GR Corolla Morizo Edition. It retains the carbon roof, rear spoiler, and hood vents from the 2023 Circuit Edition. Also, Toyota makes aerodynamic improvements to the entire GR Corolla line, including the Circuit Edition.
Inside, Toyota gives the 2024 Circuit Edition unique upholstery, with suede and synthetic leather, blue stitching, and blue accents. The car gets a unique, blue-striped GR shift knob and keeps the 8-speaker JBL premium audio system. Toyota gives the Circuit Edition upgraded features over the base Core model. However, buyers can add technology and performance packages that bring many of the more desirable upgrades from the higher trim, including limited-slip differentials, the JBL stereo, and wireless phone charging.
Though the GR Corolla is a thrilling performance car, it’s also a car for super engineering geeks. Toyota’s engineers geeked out on the 2024 model, tweaking tiny details like mounting bolt changes in the steering gear and rear suspension. The aerodynamic upgrades include reshaped air vents and aluminum sheets under the body to improve airflow.
Toyota hasn’t shared pricing or an exact release date for the 2024 GR Corolla Circuit Edition but notes that it will become available in the winter of 2023. More information, including pricing and availability, will be available closer to launch.
