With the all-new 2022 Acura Integra, Honda’s luxury division further signals that it is committed to getting back to its roots in what it calls Precision Crafted Performance. A compact entry-luxury car, the new 2022 Integra wears Acura’s latest design language, derived from its critically acclaimed Precision Concept sedan, and resurrects a revered nameplate from the company’s 1986 launch.

And, that’s about all we know.
When it goes on sale for the 2022 model year, the new Acura Integra will slot into the automaker’s lineup beneath the larger TLX, currently priced from $37,500. It also replaces the existing ILX, a decade-old design that has needed a replacement for a long time. The ILX is based on a platform that first appeared underneath the ninth-generation 2011 Honda Civic, having never moved to the tenth-gen platform that formed the basis of the 2016 Civic.
Speaking of the Civic, it is almost a certainty that Acura will base the new Integra on the latest version of Honda’s small car. Redesigned for 2022, the Civic comes in 4-door sedan and 5-door hatchback body styles, and will spawn sport-tuned Si and high-performance Type R variants. Because the original Integra was a hatch, it’s possible the new one will use a similar configuration. It’s fair to expect a hot Type S variant, too.
Undoubtedly, the ’22 Acura Integra will receive a big upgrade in terms of technology. You can expect digital instrumentation, a True Touchpad Interface infotainment system, and the latest AcuraWatch collection of advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS).
Acura fans will likely wish for a set of pop-up headlights just like the original model, but otherwise the new Integra represents cause for celebration. Now, we just need the Legend nameplate to return. Perhaps that’s what Acura intends to use on its upcoming electric SUV flagship model, which will share GM Ultium Drive components with the 2024 Honda Prologue.
