Introduction
The Toyota Land Cruiser is a full-size, body-on-frame luxury SUV with seating for 8, known for its classic, no-nonsense profile and exterior trim, as well as for its ruggedness. It has been available since the mid-1950s. After not producing a 2012 model, Toyota has brought back the Land Cruiser for 2013 in a single, fully loaded trim. Toyota promotes the Land Cruiser as a crowd-friendly SUV that can handle big loads and just about any terrain with its 4-wheel-drive (4WD) capabilities. The Toyota Land Cruiser is very similar to its slightly more luxurious stablemate, the Lexus LX 570, and it competes with the Land Rover LR4, Infiniti QX56, and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. With proper equipment, the Toyota Land Cruiser can tow up to 8,500 pounds.
Exterior Features
The 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser is offered in a choice of seven colors: white, silver, grey, red, gold, green, and black. Standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic xenon headlights, fog lights, roof rack, power-folding and auto-dimming mirrors, automatic wipers, and keyless entry/ignition. A roof rack and running boards are standard.
Interior Features
Standard interior features on the Toyota Land Cruiser include 4-zone automatic front and rear climate control with air filter, separate second-row control panel, individual temperature settings for driver, front passenger, and rear passengers, and second- and third-row vents; full power windows and locks; cruise control; premium HDD navigation system with Toyota's Entune system and 8-inch high-resolution touch screen with split-screen capability; premium fully loaded 14-speaker JBL sound system; multi-terrain monitor; and a rear-seat DVD-based entertainment system with 9-inch display. All seating surfaces are of perforated leather. Front seats are multi-stage heated and ventilated; the driver's seat is 10-way power-adjustable; the front passenger seat has 8-way adjustment; both have power lumbar support. The second row features 40/20/40-split sliding, reclining, folding, heated seats with a center armrest; the third row has 50/50-split seats with folding headrests. The steering wheel and gearshift knob are leather-wrapped and woodgrain-inlaid. The interior also features many storage pockets and compartments, and 12 cupholders. Storage space in the 2013 Land Cruiser is 16 cubic feet behind the third-row seats; with rear seats folded the maximum cargo capacity is 82 cubic feet.
Optional Features
Because the base model is so feature-heavy, no option packages are offered on the 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser. Individual options include a ball mount for towing, alloy wheel locks, exhaust tip, hood protector, paint protection film, towing wire harness, trailer ball, all-weather floor mats and cargo mat, emergency assistance kit, remote starter, various cargo organizers, a security system, first aid kit, and wireless headphones.
Under the Hood
The Toyota Land Cruiser's standard engine is a 5.7-liter, 381-horsepower V-8 engine that produces 401 lb.-ft. of torque. It works with a 6-speed automatic transmission and full-time 4WD.

Safety
Standard safety features on the 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser include anti-lock brakes, stability and traction control, active front head restraints, and a full complement of air bags.
