New for 2015:Mini

2015 Mini Overview

The highlights of the 2015 Mini lineup are two new Mini Cooper Hardtop designs. Both the 2-door and the 4-door Mini Cooper Hardtop models (that is, two and four doors plus a hatchback) have grown in length and interior space for 2015, and the 4-door hardtop now seats 5.

The 2015 Mini Countryman compact crossover gets minor revisons, including a new grille, new chrome accents for the Countryman S, new wheels, LED fog lights, and a few new colors. An underbody guard is standard for the all-wheel drive (AWD) models. The Paceman, Mini's 2-door, lower-riding crossover, also adds some new colors and a new wheel design for the base trim level.

The 2-seaters-the Mini Cooper Coupe and the Mini Cooper Roadster-are little changed from the previous year, but they've added automatic climate control and rain-sensing wipers as standard features.

2015 Mini Countryman

Following a significant update for the 2014 model year, the 4-door Mini Countryman isn't much changed this year, but has added automatic climate control and wipers as standard equipment. The Countryman is a 5-seater, available in base, Cooper S, Cooper S All4, and John Cooper Works (JCW) trim levels. The base and Cooper S models feature front-wheel drive (FWD), while the upper trim levels offer AWD.

The Countryman S adds a turbocharged version of the base engine; the John Cooper Works combines a more powerful engine with AWD and some extra luxury features.

The Mini Countryman is highly customizable, with many of the standard features on the upper trim levels available as options on the lower trims. These options include a choice of color schemes and available exterior graphics; 18- or 19-in. wheels; adaptive xenon headlights; rear park-assist sensors; two-pane sunroof; leather upholstery; heated front seats; auto-dimming rearview mirror; satellite radio; and a premium 10-speaker audio system.

What's New

  • Automatic climate control
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • Restyled front grille
  • Distinctive chrome accents for the S trim level
  • New lightweight wheels on the base model
  • LED fog lights
  • Underbody guard for AWD models

2015 Mini Coupe and Roadster

The 2-seaters in the Mini lineup, the 2015 Mini Coupe and Roadster models are little changed. Both are available in base, Cooper S, and JCW trim levels; both have a lower ride height than the Hardtop models and the Coupe's roofline is more steeply raked. Interestingly, the Roadster has slightly more trunk space than the 4-seat Mini Cooper Convertible.

What's New

  • Automatic climate control
  • Rain-sensing wipers

2015 Mini Hardtop and Convertible

The 2015 Mini Hardtop and Convertible have grown in length, which translates to more legroom and cargo space. The 4-door Hardtop now seats 5, and its maximum cargo capacity has risen to 40.7 cu. ft. The 2-door offers almost as much cargo space at 38 cu. ft.

The FWD Hardtop and Convertible are offered in base Cooper and Cooper S trim levels; the Convertible can also be had in JCW trim. The Convertible features a power soft top. The base model features a 3-cylinder engine; the upper trim levels get a 4-cylinder power plant. Available safety functions include a speed-limit sign detector, camera-based adaptive cruise control, collision and pedestrian impact warnings, and automatic braking.

The Hardtop and Convertible feature many options, both packaged and individual, with a wide range of sporty upgrades available for the JCW. In all, the Mini Cooper line is one of the most customizable badges on the market.

What's New

  • More legroom
  • More cargo space
  • Upgraded color options and styling touches

2015 Mini Paceman

Mini's 4-passenger Paceman is essentially a 2-door version of the 4-door Countryman. It underwent a comprehensive upgrading for the 2014 model year and is not much changed for 2015. A comfort-tuned suspension is standard, though buyers can opt for sport-tuned components at no extra cost.

FWD Cooper and Cooper S trim levels are available, along with the AWD Cooper S All4 and JCW All4. As is the case with all Minis, the Paceman is highly customizable.

What's New

  • New wheel design for base model
  • Adjusted color options
