2014 Acura ILX trims

2014 ILX

Unwilling to leave "well enough" alone, Acura has given the ILX some fairly substantial updates after just one year on the market. The majority of the changes are to the interior of the car and include an 8-way power adjustable driver's seat, higher quality door cards, leather seating surfaces, a backup camera and an improved audio system featuring a subwoofer and noise cancellation technology. The exterior of the car receives an update as well, 17-inch wheels are now standard. All of this standard equipment bumps the base price if the ILX up by about $1000, a fantastic deal for the amount of equipment included in the update.

About ILX

The Acura ILX was introduced in 2013 as a compact premium sedan meant to lure first-time buyers to the brand. Sharing its platform with the Honda Civic, the ILX became the first compact sedan sold by Acura in the United States since the Intregra was discontinued in 2001. The youth-oriented profile featured a sporty, aerodynamic exterior and a "three-dimensional cabin" according to Acura. Standard dual-zone climate control, Pandora internet radio and Bluetooth connectivity were included on the Acura ILX. A 150-horsepower 2.0-liter and 201-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine option existed for conventional 2013 models. The premiere of the Acura ILX was also the first time the luxury make sold a hybrid-powered vehicle. A 1.5-liter four-cylinder combined with a 17.2-kilowatt DC electric motor collectively generated 111 horsepower. Peak city fuel economy of 39 miles per gallon can be achieved inside the Acura ILX Hybrid. The ILX Hybrid would be dropped following the 2014 model year. Along with a considerable restyling that included Jewel Eye LED headlights, the 2016 Acura ILX engine power could be furnished solely by a 2.4-liter, direct-injected engine linked to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
