An updated dashboard and door panels, and discontinued, depowered airbags were the only changes to the Impreza Wagon for 1998. For 1999, the Impreza Wagon got a slight bump in horsepower and new multi-reflector headlamps. 24-hour roadside assistance was added for 2000. No changes were in store for 2001, with a completely redesigned Impreza Wagon issued for 2001 that offered better quality materials, an updated exterior and interior styling, enhanced performance and new safety equipment. The only changes for 2002-2003 were updates to the trim levels. In 2004, the Impreza Wagon got new front and rear fascias, new headlamps and updates to all upper trim levels.
Updates to the 2.5 TS wagon, which included new alloy wheels, new suspension tuning and sports seats, were the big changes for 2005. The WRX TR wagon was unveiled in 2006, offering a more affordable price tag. In addition, new tail lights and fenders graced all models. Tweaks to trim levels were the only updates for 2007, with an all-new design being introduced in 2008 that featured more interior room, a restyled exterior and a more competitive price tag. Aside from updates to the WRX lineup that improved performance and safety, everything was the same as usual for 2009.
A new front grille and WRX Limited trim were the major changes for 2010. An updated audio system graced the 2011 Impreza Wagon. In 2012, the Impreza Wagon was redesigned. It offered new headlamps, a more fuel-friendly engine and a roomier interior that boasted higher quality materials. Bluetooth and iPod integration were made standard for 2013. The Impreza Wagon would carry over into 2014 relatively unchanged.
