GMC's large crossover vehicle, the Acadia, has undergone a major re-engineering for the 2017 model year. Smaller and losing more than 700 pounds compared to the nameplate's previous generation, the 2017 GMC Acadia rugged new packaging continues to permit enough space for three rows of seating. Another note in GMC's 2017 product lineup is the adoption several new trims on several models. A new Denali-trimmed GMC Canyon debuts with an exclusive grille and high-end seating for high-end comfort. Along with the Canyon Denali, 2017 also features the addition of the All Terrain X for off-roaders. A Nightfall Edition package available on the Canyon and now on the 2017 Terrain withdraws much of the exterior chrome shine in favor of touches like a body color-matching grille. Active grille shutters and Teen Driver electronic monitoring features are added to all Sierra, Yukon as well as the Yukon XL. Reports indicate the 2017 model year GMC Savana van will gain the option of a 2.8-liter Duramax diesel engines.
