2010 Volvo Ratings, Reviews and Awards
A pioneer of ingenuity in auto safety features, Volvo's 2010 lineup included some of the year's most intuitive designs. The debut of the XC60 came with enhanced City Safety features comprised of auto brake functions as well as enhanced collision avoidance and mitigation technologies. The XC60's arrival also set the standard for seven-passenger seating, which would now be featured on all XC90s. As Volvo's first entry-level luxury crossover, the vehicle offers sleek looks with a wide range of interior upgrades from high-end Dolby Surround Sound to a backup camera and onboard navigation. The XC90 came equipped with a panoramic moon roof and held 281 horsepower under the hood in its 3.0-liter inline engine. The year also saw six-speed manual transmissions for the S40 sedan and V50 wagon. While there was no S60 model, which was being prepared for 2011, the all-new XC90 was more than enough to prove that Volvo was a heavy contender in the market.
