2010 V70

For 2010, the Volvo V70 wagon gets a number of minor changes. On V70s that meet PZEV emissions, transmission shift points have been changed. Outside, the grille has been slightly redesigned, and silver roof rails have been added to the equipment list. Inside, a new steering wheel design has silk-metal accents, and the nav system gets a new startup screen. Options have been reconfigured slightly, with the Collision Avoidance Package renamed the Technology Package, and a new Multimedia Package that combines the Dynaudio sound system, Sirius satellite radio and the navigation system. Also, a new premium R-Design model includes a sport suspension along with many other appearance improvements.

2008 V70

The Volvo V70 wagon and its more rugged counterpart, the XC70, have been completely redesigned for 2008. Both feature a new shape and a more contemporary appearance similar to that of the S80, and both are built on the same platform as the S80. The V70 and XC70 also get a smooth new six-cylinder engine in place of the former five-cylinder. For now, the sporty "R" version is discontinued.

2007 Volvo V70 trims

2007 V70

The Volvo V70 wagon variants and the more rugged XC70 see only small changes for 2007, as they're due for a complete redesign for 2008. On all models, dynamic stability traction control is now standard and new side mirrors have integrated turn signals. Also, aluminum trim inserts have been added inside, a new "Tuscana" 17-inch wheel design is available on the 2.5T, puddle lights are no longer available, and option packages have been streamlined. The rear-seat entertainment system is now a standalone option. The XC70 gets some more extensive equipment changes, too. There's a new standard 16-inch "Xenia" wheel design, a new Convenience Package is available, and there are several new stand-alone options, including active bi-xenon headlamps and 17-inch "Oreander" alloy wheels. The third-row seat is no longer available on the V70, but on the XC70 it's still available as a retailer installed accessory.

About V70

The Volvo V70 wagon boasted updated suspension, improved side-impact airbags, a new interior and all-wheel-drive engine options in 1998. Rounding out the changes for 1999 were updated safety features, a better braking system (four channel ABS), head-protection for side-impact airbags, stability and traction control (offered as standard features), and updates to the interior and exterior. An improved engine, a brand new and more effective transmission and trim updates graced the 2000 V70. Completely redesigned for 2001, the V70 flaunted an all-new body style, a new interior and modernized safety features.

In 2002, emergency BrakeAssist and updated traction control were the two largest changes. The V70R performance wagon debuted in 2003, offering a sport-tuned advantage over other trim levels. 2004-2006 comprised only of minor trim level adjustments. A tire-pressure monitoring system, integrated turn signals on side mirrors, aluminum trim accents and updated optional packages were the only changes in store for 2007. Redesigned in 2008, the V70 now offered a six-cylinder engine. Fog lights and Bluetooth integration were made standard in 2009. No major changes were in store for 2010.
