Mercedes-Benz is offering a more attractive GLB compact SUV for customers with numerous innovations and extensive standard equipment. The rugged appearance of the SUV is enhanced by the redesigned front bumper, which includes visual underbody protection, a radiator grille with four horizontal louvers and a central star, and precisely contoured side graphics that create an exciting interplay of light and shadow. The new GLB also has striking full-LED headlights and taillights, expanded options such as two additional 18- and 20-inch wheel designs, and a new Starling Blue Metallic paint.

The 2024 GLB highlights a significantly upgraded interior, with two 10.25-inch displays for the instrument cluster and multimedia screens. The turbine-look round air vents convey sporty elegance and contrast with the aluminum interior elements. In contrast, the standard Nappa leather-upholstered steering wheel and heated steering wheel with the AMG Line interior upgrade offer enhanced luxury. The Progressive interior is available in Black and Macchiato Beige, with MB-Tex/microfiber upholstery that consists mainly of recycled materials - 65 percent in the middle section of the seat and 85 percent in the bottom fabric. Four upholstery colors are now available: Black, Bahia Brown, Titan Grey/Black, and Red/Black.
The standard equipment of the GLB has been significantly upgraded, offering generous standard equipment such as new LED headlights and taillights, Highbeam Assist, USB package, Parking package, and Keyless GO package. The new GLB excels with upgrading the Driver Assistance Package through Active Steering Assist, enabling more comfortable control of Lane Keeping Assist. The next-generation Parking package also supports longitudinal parking with 360-degree visualization for camera-assisted parking.
The latest generation of MBUX infotainment now features newly designed display styles, with the Classic display style providing the driver with all relevant information, while the Sporty style impresses with the dynamic tachometer. The Discreet display style shows only the most essential information. Featuring three modes (Navigation, Assistance, Services) and 10 Ambient Light color worlds, customers can choose various individualization options for the driver display. All previous functions, such as Media, Phone, or Vehicle, can be easily operated via the central touchscreen, steering wheel controls, or "Hey Mercedes" voice assistant.

The telematics system has been revised and now includes improved performance and design. The new GLB features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, with an additional USB-C port and increased USB charging power, while all USB ports are illuminated. The Mercedes-Benz intelligent voice assistant can now be activated through online services in the Mercedes me app, and the system learns the driver's preferred vehicle settings and routes, suggesting personalized infotainment, comfort, and vehicle functions that precisely match the respective driving situation. Specific actions can be triggered without saying "Hey Mercedes," and the voice assistant can now explain vehicle functions.
The optional Burmester® surround sound system, in conjunction with the latest generation MBUX, features the Dolby Atmos® immersive audio experience, giving music more space, clarity, and depth. The system adapts to any playback environment, allowing fans to listen to music with unparalleled clarity that matches the artist's original vision from the studio.
The new GLB has a new mild hybrid system with an additional 48-volt electrical system for the belt-driven starter-generator. It briefly provides 13 hp of additional power to support agile starting and quicker acceleration under certain driving conditions. The starter-generator also provides smooth, quiet engine starting, enabling coasting with the combustion engine switched off for greater efficiency.
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB is set to arrive in U.S. dealerships later this year.
