In honor of its 55th Anniversary, Mercedes-AMG is celebrating by creating four "Edition 55" special models based on the 2023 AMG GLE SUV and AMG GLE Coupe.
Well-crafted equipment and exquisite details underscore the exclusive design of the “Edition 55” unique models. Some of these proprietary features include Obsidian Black Metallic or MANUFAKTUR Diamond White Metallic paint, 22-inch AMG forged wheels and a multitude of unique interior touches.
Fittingly, 55 units of each model will be available at U.S. dealerships later this year.
One of the notable features of the "Edition 55" that makes it uniquely identifiable is the special contrasting foil highlighting the AMG crest on each side of the vehicle. Further exciting contrasts include 22-inch forged AMG cross-spoke wheels finished in matte grey with "Edition 55" lettering on the wheel center caps.
With the AMG Night Package, select exterior elements are finished in high-gloss black. These elements include the front splitter and the trim strip of the AMG front fascia. The trend continues into the exterior mirror housings, window surrounds, and trim strip of the AMG rear fascia. Bringing it all together is the heat-insulating dark-tinted glass and two black chrome twin tailpipe trims.
The contrast of black and red characterizes the interior of the “Edition 55” models, highlighted by the contrast of black and red throughout. Stainless steel door sill trims with red illuminated AMG lettering welcome both driver and passengers, with black AMG floor mats featuring contrasting red stitching and red woven "Edition 55" lettering. Additional elements commemorating the anniversary include the AMG Performance steering wheel wrapped in microfiber with "AMG" and "Edition 55" badges. These touches and add-ons help to emphasize the exclusivity of the anniversary models.
The interior ambiance is equal parts sporty and luxurious, with AMG trim elements in matte carbon black featured throughout the cabin. It also extends to the door panels and center console, with the palm rest in the center console enhanced by an embossed AMG crest. The two-tone Classic Red/Black Nappa leather upholstered seats are one of the many instances of this color combination.
Mercedes is also throwing in an AMG-branded indoor car cover with each AMG GLE SUV and AMG GLE Coupe "Edition 55" model. This tailored AMG Indoor Car Cover features breathable outer paneling made of tear-resistant synthetic fiber fabric with an antistatic flannel inner fabric.
Available as an extra package retailing from $6,277 to $13,812 depending on the specific GLE model, Mercedes-AMG is currently accepting orders for the GLE” Edition 55” and will continue to do so until the end of the year.
