Mercedes-Benz is paving the way for its drivers in North America to plug into Tesla Superchargers. Set to begin in 2024, this new initiative marks a significant milestone in the company's strategic focus on enhancing electric vehicle adoption by ensuring superior product experience and access to major charging networks.
In 2025, Mercedes-Benz will incorporate NACS ports in its new electric vehicles, becoming the inaugural German automotive manufacturer. An adapter will be made available in 2024 during the transition phase, enabling existing Mercedes-Benz EVs with Combined Charging System (CCS) ports to connect smoothly with the NACS network.

Ola Källenius, the Chairman of the Board of Management at Mercedes-Benz Group AG, stated, "Our strategic priority is clear: Building the world’s most desirable cars. To accelerate the shift to electric vehicles, we are dedicated to elevating the entire EV experience for our customers - including fast, convenient, and reliable charging solutions wherever their Mercedes-Benz takes them. That’s why we are committed to building our global Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging Network, with the first sites opening this year. In parallel, we are also implementing NACS in our vehicles, allowing drivers to access an expansive network of high-quality charging offerings in North America."
Starting in 2024, Mercedes-Benz EV drivers will have access to more than 12,000 Tesla Superchargers in North America, all integrated with Mercedes-Benz’s own charging service, Mercedes me Charge. Mercedes-Benz drivers will enjoy seamless charger access, automatic charging payments, real-time charger availability, and pricing updates through the Mercedes me Charge platform and their in-vehicle map. Superchargers will also be integrated with Navigation with Electric Intelligence, ensuring optimal routes, including convenient charging stops.
In addition to expanding charger compatibility, Mercedes-Benz will establish its own High-Power Charging Network. More than 400 Charging Hubs equipped with over 2,500 high-power chargers will be available in North America by the end of the decade, supported by American partners. The first Mercedes-Benz Charging Hubs, offering both CCS1 and NACS plugs, will open in North America by the end of 2023.

Globally, Mercedes-Benz aims to establish more than 2,000 Charging Hubs by the end of the decade, with locations in North America, Europe, China, and other core markets. These hubs will feature more than 10,000 charging points, with the potential for further expansion based on market demand. Mercedes-Benz Charging Hubs will be universally open to all brands of electric vehicles, thus expanding the accessibility of the charging network.
Mercedes-Benz is also working to establish a benchmark for EV infrastructure, providing a convenient charging experience characterized by fast, safe, and green charging.
Andrew Cornelia, CEO of Mercedes-Benz HPC North America, said, “With the development of Mercedes-Benz’s new North American High-Power Charging Network, we are ready to redefine the electric vehicle charging experience. We’re building on our strong brand promise by leveraging the renowned quality, reputation, and customer focus for which Mercedes-Benz has been known for well over a century.”
As Mercedes-Benz embarks on this electrifying journey, it underscores the brand's unwavering commitment to sustainable innovation and superior customer experience. This ambitious stride forward in infrastructure and connectivity signifies a promising new chapter in Mercedes-Benz's pursuit of electric vehicle excellence.
