2021 Ford Bronco Production Officially Starts in Michigan

Chris Teague | Jun 15, 2021

The 2021 Ford Bronco is one of the most anticipated vehicles to hit the market in years. It didn’t take long after the last new Bronco rolled off the assembly line in the late 1990s for fans to start clamoring for an updated model, and Ford finally responded when it announced the new Bronco and Bronco Sport would arrive for 2021. Unfortunately, delays and production issues pushed the larger Bronco SUV’s release back by several months.

2021 Ford Bronco Made in Michigan

On June 15, 2021, Ford officially began production of the 2021 Bronco. To make the SUV a reality, the automaker invested $750 million and added thousands of jobs to support production of the vehicle at its Michigan Assembly plant. Ford will further modify the Bronco to its customers’ tastes at a neighboring Modification Center.

Ford is offering the Bronco in six trims and one sold-out First Edition model. Here are the 2021 Ford Bronco prices, and don’t forget to add the $1,495 destination charge:

  • Bronco Base: $28,500
  • Bronco Big Bend: $35,880
  • Bronco Black Diamond: $36,050
  • Bronco Outer Banks: $38,955
  • Bronco Badlands: $42,095
  • Bronco Wildtrak: $46,980
  • Bronco First Edition: $56,915

Ford also offers several option packages that impact pricing. They include the:

  • High Package: 12-inch touchscreen, 360-degree camera, and tech upgrades
  • Lux Package: Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, wireless device charging, interior upgrades
  • Sasquatch Package: 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, suspension lift kit, off-road components

When Can I Get a 2021 Ford Bronco? - Find the best Ford deals!

Ford says that it has collected more than 125,000 orders for the new Bronco and notes that over 190,000 people have reserved a vehicle, a precursor to the actual orders. That popularity, along with pandemic- and supply chain-related delays, means that many Bronco reservation and order holders may be waiting deep into 2021 and even into 2022 to receive their vehicles.

In May, Ford sent an email to buyers, acknowledging the delay and disclosing that the Bronco’s hardtop proved to be more challenging to produce than expected. Hardtop production hadn’t kept pace with demand, forcing Ford to offer olive branches to Bronco buyers in the form of free driving events and more.

There is an off chance that a dealership gets its hands on an unsold Bronco early in the rollout process, but in-demand models have a history of being listed for sale with markups that drive their asking price well above the window sticker value assigned by the manufacturer. It’s impossible to say how quickly Ford will be able to crank out Broncos and stock dealerships, and even harder to guess what else in the world might go sideways between now and any expected delivery date.

When can you get a new Bronco? Your best chance to get behind the wheel of a 2021 Bronco is to reserve a vehicle on Ford’s website and wait.
