Mazda 2017 Model Overview

Mazda refines its two car models—the Mazda 3 and the Mazda 6—and redesigns the popular CX-5 crossover SUV for the 2017 model year. A new version of the MX-5 Miata also arrives, equipped with a power-retractable hardtop roof. The CX-3 and CX-9—both new in 2016—see (or are expected to see) minor changes.

  • Updated design detailing, inside and out
  • Interiors add more sound insulation for a quieter ride
  • Standard G-Vectoring Control handling technology and Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (PZEV) emissions rating in all 50 states
  • Sport driving mode added for standard 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with automatic transmission
  • Touring trim level adds larger 18-in. wheels, leatherette upholstery and interior trim, 6-way power driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, low-speed automatic emergency braking system, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert
  • Grand Touring trim level adds standard 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, perforated leather upholstery, head-up display
  • Reworked option packages
  • Parchment interior color replaces Almond
  • New colors: Sonic Silver, Machine Gray, Eternal Blue

  • All versions gain PZEV emissions rating in all 50 states, plus Mazda G-Vectoring Control technology, new exterior mirror design, new steering wheel design, and added sound insulation for a quieter interior
  • Base model now includes MazdaConnect infotainment system with reversing camera
  • Touring trim level adds standard automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, low-speed automatic emergency braking
  • Grand Touring adds standard adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, full-color head-up display, traffic sign recognition technology, and upgraded instrumentation
  • New Premium package for Grand Touring includes premium Nappa leather, black headliner, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, i-Eloop regenerative braking system, and upgraded interior trim and detailing
  • New color: Machine Gray
