2018 Toyota Camry trims

2018 Camry

The best-selling car in America has once again been given a redesign. This time around, reliable and comfortable are not enough for Toyota and they've done their best to inject some excitement into a car that's become a workhorse for American families. The biggest change is obviously the styling. While the previous Camry did its part to look less anonymous than the ones that preceded it, it still wasn't what anyone would call particularly sporty. The new 2018 Camry has a bold, aggressive front end design and taillights that evoke some of the sportier offerings from Toyota's sister company, Lexus. The powertrains have also been given a redesign and the new Camry is likely the fastest one yet.

2012 Camry

The 2012 Camry has been redesigned both inside and out. Although it rides on the same platform as 2011 models, it's been given all new bold-looking sheetmetal with a more aerodynamic style. The trunk is now larger, offering more storage space and all models feature 60/40 split folding rear seats, providing the ability to transport longer items. The Hybrid model features an updated 2.5L inline 4-cylinder engine and electric motor combination, which provides a total of 200 horsepower, up from last year's 188. The interior features increased headroom as well as hip and legroom, and the seats have been redesigned to be more comfortable.

2010 Toyota Camry trims

2010 Camry

The Toyota Camry and Camry Hybrid enter the 2010 model year with a list of enhancements inside and out, which include exterior styling, performance, safety, audio and convenience features. Of note is a new powertrain: A new 2.5-liter inline-4 equipped with variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i) will produce 169 hp for Camry LE and XLE models, replacing the 158-hp 2.4 of years past. For sporty performance, SE models get additional tuning and output is bumped to 179 horsepower, 21 more horsepower than the previous 4-cylinder engine. The new engine can be combined with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift, which replace the previous 5-speeds. Outside, the front bumper and grille have been revised, with a larger lower intake and headlamps, while the rear taillights are restyled as well. The Camry Hybrid receives a unique grille and front bumper, with restyled fog lights and 16-inch alloy wheels. Interior refinements include an optional upgraded stereo system and Fraichir seating in the Hybrid, which blends silk protein and synthetic fibers for a soft texture. Vehicle Stability Control is now standard on all Camrys, as is auto up/down window control on all four doors.

2009 Camry

Across the board, 2009 Toyota Camry prices are up $150, and remote keyless entry is now standard on all non-Hybrid models instead of being an upgraded item on the SE and XLE trims. On the V6 SE, the Sport Convenience Package is now called Package #1, and the Sport Leather Package is renamed Package #2. Standard equipment on the Hybrid now includes alloys instead of 2007's steel wheels, while the optional Comfort & Convenience Package keeps the same price and content but is now simply referred to as the Convenience Package.

2008 Toyota Camry trims

2008 Camry

For all but the Hybrid, 2008 Toyota Camry prices are up $100 across the board, and the lineup and option offerings remain the same. The Hybrid's base price drops $1,000 to $25,200, due to loss of some standard content--steel wheels replace 2007's alloys, the steering wheel and shift knob lose their leather coating, the JBL audio system with six-disc changer is replaced by a single-CD setup, the auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass has been replaced by a manual model, and Bluetooth is off the list of standards. A new Upgrade Package is available for $1,150 and adds back this formerly standard equipment. The navigation system, which in 2007 was a stand-alone option, is now only available with the content of the Upgrade Package.

2007 Toyota Camry trims

2007 Camry

A new Hybrid model joins the Camry lineup for 2007, and the V6 engine gains 40% more power, while all Camry models receive improved brakes and handling. The entire Camry lineup is all new for '07, with a look that borrows cues from Toyota's Lexus luxury brand. Inside, all Camrys have a quieter, more refined ride and improved interior comfort, and more standard safety features. The Camry's wheelbase is about the same size as the outgoing model, but rear legroom has been slightly increased. The Camry Hybrid borrows Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive, originally showcased in the Prius, to earn EPA fuel economy estimates of 40 city, 38 highway. Starting at $26,200, the Hybrid is nearly $2,000 less expensive than the Camry XLE V6.

About Camry

The 1998 Camry featured new options that included two different sound systems and several new body colors. Subtle updates to upper trim levels, a slight horsepower boost for the four-cylinder models and upgrades to the interior, which included a new JBL audio system, climate control, and more marked the only changes for the 1999 Avalon. The 2000 Avalon offered basic updates to trim levels and a new Value Package that boasted all-powered accessories.

A larger, quieter interior, upgraded safety features and improved drive were the notable changes for 2001. No changes were in store for 2002, with a new 3.0-liter V6 engine that offered 240 hp debuting for 2003, along with the Limited Edition Camry. An entry-level standard model was introduced in 2004 with all models getting a style update for 2005. New features for this model year include: new exterior style, new grille, updated head and tail lamps, new wheels, Optitron gauges, a new five-speed transmission, audio controls on the steering wheel and upgraded seat fabrics.

The Camry would not see any updates for 2006. But in 2007, an all-new design was introduced, offering more interior room, more luxury features, a more powerful V6 engine that could make 268 hp and an available hybrid model. Following the major redesign, there would be no major updates for model years 2008-2009. In 2010, the Camry got a new 2.5-liter four-cylinder base, an upgraded six-speed transmission, restyled tail lamps and front grille, Bluetooth integration for lower trim levels and stability control. 2011 would yield no changes, with a completely redesigned Camry issued in 2012. A new 6 touchscreen was the big update for 2013, standard across all trim levels. There would be no major changes for 2014.
