About Crosstrek Hybrid

Subaru's first hybrid production vehicle, the electrified technology combined with the brand's Boxer engine design debuted on the XV Crosstrek during the crossover sophomore year. The 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid gasoline/electric powertrain was focused on creating additional efficiency and performance for the compact utility vehicle. Gasoline power came from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine featuring a higher compression ratio, larger EGR system and reduced friction components compared to the conventional gasoline Subaru XV Crosstrek. The engine was included in a parallel hybrid system alongside with 13.4-horsepower AC synchronous electric motor and nickel-metal hydride battery. Auto Start-Stop, low-rolling resistence tires, active grille shutters included with the XV Crosstrek Hybrid allow average city/highway fuel economy of 31 miles per gallon to be achieved. Maintaining a high level of practicality with the XV Crosstrek Hybrid, Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive came standard while maximum cargo space was rated at 50.2 cubic feet. Featuring several upgrades for 2015, the Subaru XV Crosstrek crossover added a standard Starlink multimedia system and Welcome Lighting. Known simply as the Crosstrek Hybrid for 2016, the fuel efficient crossover adds updated front end styling and standard Blind Spot Detection.
