SelectBrowse ListingsPorsche's entry-level sports coupe has been broadly redesigned for 2017. SelectBrowse ListingsFirst introduced in 2006, the Porsche Cayman provided a hardtop version of the Boxster. Starting in 2017, the Cayman as well as the Boxster was grouped together under a single identity. Borrowing from the German sports car maker's motorsport past, 718 numbering served as a bridge between Porsche's two small sports car models. The new Porsche 718 Cayman came loaded with a series of changes and upgrades. Maintaining only the luggage compartment lid, roof and windshield used on the 2016 model, the 718 Cayman wore a new, wider body. Another major advancement for the 2017 model year was the use of new turbocharged flat-four engines. Generating 25 horsepower more than the previous Cayman base powerplant, a 300-horsepower 2.0-liter engine was found in the new Porsche 718 Cayman. A 718 Cayman S came with a 2.5-liter engine using a variable geometry turbocharger. Both the 718 Cayman and 718 Cayman S were available with a six-speed manual transmission or Porsche's 7-speed PDK transmission. The Porsche 718 Cayman S registered a 0 to 60-mile per hour launch in just four seconds when equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package. Included with a restyled interior of the 718 Cayman was the Porsche Communication Management operating from a seven-inch touchscreen.
