Inside, an additional USB port has been added to aid in charging devices, while a new 8-way power adjustable passenger seat is also available.

2015 Soul

The Kia Soul was redesigned last year, so for this year it's mostly the same save for a few small changes to several options and amenities. The most notable upgrades have been made to Kia's UVO eServices, which feature several updates making the system more robust, with increased app compatibility. Other changes include a new set of interior colors available on 'Exclaim' trimmed Souls. A new electric-powered Soul arrives for 2015. Powered by a lithium-ion battery pack, it pushes the diminutive Soul for a claimed 92 miles on a charge. The Soul EV will come in both base and Plus (+) trims.

The Kia Soul looks virtually the same as the model that preceded it, but it's all-new for 2014--built on an new platform, with more attention paid to ride, handling and overall refinement. It's also much improved inside--with a cabin that goes beyond the cute and stylish themes of the first-gen model, plus more noise insulation and next-generation infotainment technology that has a great optional navigation system but leaves options open for smartphone apps. Just like its predecessor, the Soul is packed with more standard features than most other vehicles with its sticker price. After major revisions to the powertrain in 2012, Kia has left the Soul mostly unchanged for 2013. A revised grill with chrome accents is new, as are the various Kia badges that adorn the vehicle. Inside, audio controls are now located on the steering wheel and Bluetooth is standard even on base manual transmission equipped cars. Soul ! variants now come with power folding mirrors and several new colors are available across all model ranges. Pricing starts at $14,400 for a manual-equipped Soul.

2012 Soul

The Kia Soul has been refreshed for 2012. Updates include new side mirrors with integrated turn signals, a sculpted hood, a revised front end with new headlights and updated grille, as well as new taillights and rear bumper. The new Soul is slightly longer than its predecessor. Inside, changes include a standard tilt/telescopic steering wheel and revised stereo system. The Soul Sport has been dropped from the model range, leaving the base Soul, Soul +, and Soul !, the last of which now includes LED projector headlights with LED taillights. Powertrains have been updated as well. The 1.6L four is now direct-injected for increased efficiency, and power has been boosted as well, from 122 hp to 138 hp. The 2.0L found in the Soul + and Soul ! jumps from 142 hp to 164 hp. Both engines are now mated to a new 6-speed automatic, with a 6-speed manual available as well. Pricing starts at $13,900 for a manual-equipped Soul.

In 2011, Kia added new shock absorbers in the rear as well as discbrakes, new door handles, one-button start and heated outside mirrors, as wellas making various other minor changes. The 2012 Soul offered boosted enginepower with added fuel economy, a six-speed transmission, and a few new styleand technology options. In 2013, Kia added Bluetooth connectivity, optionalpower folding mirrors, and made a few other slight changes to this model. In2014, Kia introduced the redesigned and all-new Kia Soul.
