2020 Wrangler Unlimited

The Wrangler returns in 2020 with a shuffling of trim specific features, pricing, and powertrains. A new Black & Tan Edition package debuts this year featuring a Tan Premium Sunrider Soft Top, machined 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, black Jeep fender badging, side steps and the Technology Group. The Wrangler also receives updates to its powertrains this year. All Sahara automatic transmission-equipped Wranglers now are equipped with 3.6L V6 engines paired with eTorque Hybrid technology. Sport and Rubicon models now are only equipped with 2.0L turbo non-eTorque assisted engines with optional electronic start and stop. A 3.0L diesel is listed as a late-year option available across the Unlimited range to include Sport, Sahara and Rubicon.

2016 Wrangler Unlimited

A new Black Bear special edition heads up the changes to the Jeep Wrangler in 2016. The Black Bear Special Edition includes a satin black grill, unique exterior decals, rock sliders and black 17-inch wheels. Inside, the Black Bear gets a leather wrapped steering wheel with contrasting stitching, all-weather mats and some additional interior trim pieces. The Sahara edition also gets minor updates with new wheels and a body colored bumper applique.

The changes for the 2011 Wrangler are almost entirely in the passenger compartment. The rough-and-ready Jeep gets nicer materials and sound-deadening measures for a more comfortable ride. The sound system also got an upgrade, now including USB connectivity and controls on the steering wheel. There are also five new colors for the Wrangler, though engines and transmissions remain the same for all trim levels.

For 2010, the venerable Jeep Wrangler receives several minor changes. A new Interactive Decel Fuel Shut-Off (iDFSO) cuts fuel to the engine during deceleration, which increases gas mileage. It is standard on all models, as are a compass and outside temperature gauge. New standard equipment on Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited include fog lamps, tow hooks, a full-length center console and front floor mats. Sahara and Rubicon models now have optional leather-faced trim, as well as optional 2-tone leather. Surf Blue Pearl, Natural Green Pearl and Dark Charcoal Pearl replace Metallic Green, Orange Pearl, and Detonator Yellow exterior colors. The Sunrider soft top has been re-worked to be easier to open and close, and Bluetooth hands-free connectivity is included with navigation.

For 2009, the Wrangler gets a couple of new storage spaces--a storage net at the bottom of the dash and a bin in the center console. Hill Start Assist is newly standard across the line, and Trailer Sway Control is available. Otherwise, there are few changes except some new colors; Sunburst Orange Pearl Coat replaces Rescue Green Metallic Clear Coat, and Deep Water Blue Pearl Coat replaces Steel Blue Metallic Clear Coat.

About Wrangler Unlimited

Jeep made no major changes to the 2009 WranglerUnlimited, adding start assist, a sway control system and some minor storageupgrades. In 2010, Jeep added a removable soft top, and made fog lights, towinghooks and a compass standard in the base model, as well as making some slightchanges to the trims. The 2011 Wrangler Unlimited featured a newly designedinterior that boasted bigger windows, offered powered mirrors, all-new climatecontrol, Bluetooth integration and a few other minor changes.

 

The 2012 modelyear featured a standard V6 engine that was rated at 285 horsepower with astandard five-speed automatic transmission and 4WD. In 2013, Jeep added asystem that monitored tire pressure and updated a few trim levels. The 2014 Wrangler Unlimited remained unchanged from the previous model year.
