INFINITI QX4 Model Years

About QX4

The first-ever luxury sport utility vehicle to wear the INFINITI badge, the QX4 made its first appearance during the 1997 model year based off the Nissan Pathfinder's MonoFrame construction. INFINITI's debut in the luxury utility vehicle market presented a well-equipped vehicle boasting standard leather seating with wood-tone trim, six-speaker Bose audio system, 16-inch alloy wheels and anti-lock braking system. The 1997 INFINITI was powered by a 3.3-liter V-6 engine that supplied 168 horsepower to an All-Mode 4WD system. Largely unchanged from 1998 to 2000, a major refinement of the 2001 INFINITI QX4 enhanced the performance and options. Equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine generating 240 horsepower, the 2001 QX4 offered the availability of a two-wheel drive model in addition to the four-wheel drive version. Options introduced to the INFINITI QX4 included a navigation system and a rear seat entertainment system utilizing a video cassette player. In 2002, a DVD player could be used with the rear seat entertainment system. The INFINITI QX4 production run ended following the 2003 model year. The ‘QX' branding would continue on to have an impact on INFINITI's sport utility and crossover product selection.
