2026 M2

The BMW 2-Series and M2 both carry over for 2026 and a new M2 CS trim makes its way into production. Based on the M2, the M2 CS produces even more power than the normal M2 and also adds chassis upgrades which make it handle even better. This new trim also has a top speed of 188 miles per hour and a 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds.

The BMW 2-series gets a nice refresh for the 2018 model year. The most noticeable change is to the front fascia where new LED headlights look sharp and provide lots of light for nighttime driving, while new LED taillights out back look sleek and modern. Inside, the dashboard layout has also been rethought a little bit, it now focuses more on the driver, while the electronic user interface for the navigation and sound system has also been improved.

For 2017, the BMW 2-Series is renamed, with the 2.0L turbocharged car called the 230i and the 3.0L turbocharged car called the M240i. Going beyond a new naming scheme, each car now benefits from new powerplants, with the 4-cylinder putting out 248 horsepower -- an 8-hp gain -- and 258 pound-feet of torque, while the six now makes 335 horsepower -- up 15 hp over last year's engine -- and 369 pound-feet, which is 39 more pound-feet than last year.

The BMW 2-Series Coupe is unchanged for 2016, but the convertible gets more standard equipment as well as the option of all-wheel drive. The 2016 2-Series convertible now comes standard with an anti-theft alarm system along with many of the features from last year's Sports Line Package, including nicer seats, additional exterior trim pieces and red stitching on the steering wheel.
