About A3 e-tron

Configured to run a distance on electric power alone, the Audi A3 e-tron is rolled out for 2016 as a significant part of the luxury car brand's futuristic image. The plug-in hybrid is the first use of the German vehicle brand's e-tron moniker on a production car. Discontinued on the conventional United States sold Audi A3 with its 2015 model year redesign, the Sportback body style makes a return on the A3 e-tron model. In all-electric mode, the 2016 Audi A3 e-tron's range is 31 miles with a fully-charged 8.8-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. When electrical energy is exhausted, a turbocharged 1.4-liter TFSI engine takes over. The equivalent fuel economy calculation for the 2016 A3 e-tron has been rated at 83 miles per gallon. Standard equipment on the 2016 Audi A3 e-tron included a 10-speaker stereo system, rear view camera and electronic cruise control.
