2013 GMC Model Overview

This year, GMC concentrates on updating its crossover SUVs, the 2013 Acadia and 2013 Terrain. The 5-passenger Terrain is now available in a luxury-themed Denali trim level, is offered with numerous new technologies, and is available with an optional 3.6-liter V-6 engine. The Acadia gets a significant update in the form of new styling, a revised interior, and new technologies. GMC also upgrades the Savana full-size van with new safety features and an optional navigation system. The Sierra pickups and the Yukon SUVs are carried over with minimal modifications for 2013.

2013 GMC Acadia

The 2013 GMC Acadia is a 3-row, 8-passenger, full-size crossover SUV sold in SLE, SLT and Denali trim levels. A 3.6-liter V-6 engine drives the front wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is optional, and the 2013 Acadia can tow up to 5,200 pounds. For 2013, the Acadia receives a midcycle design and technology update.

2013 GMC Savana

The 2013 GMC Savana is a full-size cargo or passenger van capable of carrying up to 284.4 cubic feet of cargo, up to 4,187 pounds of weight, and as many as 15 passengers. Maximum towing capacity measures 10,000 pounds. Regular- and long-wheelbase models are available in 1500-, 2500-, and 3500-series model designations and SL, SLE or SLT trim levels. Engine choices include a 195-horsepower, 4.3-liter V-6; 280-horsepower, 4.8-liter V-8; 310-horsepower, 5.7-liter V-8; 324-horsepower, 6.0-liter V-8; and, in the Savana Cargo model, a 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V-8. Depending on the engine, the Savana supplies E85 and compressed natural gas (CNG) alternate-fueling options. GMC offers all-wheel drive as an option in combination with the 5.3-liter V-8 engine in 1500-series models.

2013 GMC Sierra 1500

The GMC Sierra 1500 is a light-duty, full-size pickup truck offered in regular, extended, and crew cab body styles; short, standard, or long bed lengths; and with rear-, 4-, or all-wheel drive. Buyers can choose between Work Truck, SL, SLE, XFE, SLT, and Denali trim levels, and GMC supplies the 2013 Sierra with a variety of powertrains: a 4.3-liter V-6, 4.8-liter V-8, 5.3-liter V-8, and a 6.2-liter V-8 engine. A Sierra Hybrid is also available, generating a combined 332 horsepower and rated to deliver 21 mpg in combined driving. Maximum towing capacity is 10,700 pounds, and the Sierra 1500 is rated to carry a payload weighing as much as 1,937 pounds.

2013 GMC Sierra HD

The GMC Sierra HD is a heavy-duty, full-size pickup truck sold in 2500 and 3500 model series and in Work Truck, SL, SLE, SLT, and Denali trim levels. Cab styles include regular, extended, and crew, and GMC provides a choice of three different cargo box lengths. The powertrain options are a 360-horsepower, 6.0-liter V-8 with the ability to operate on compressed natural gas or a 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V-8 generating 397 horsepower and 765 lb.-ft. of torque designed to operate on B20 bio-diesel. Properly equipped, a Sierra 3500HD with the Duramax engine can tow up to 18,000 pounds and carry a 7,222-pound payload.

2013 GMC Terrain

The GMC Terrain is a compact 5-passenger crossover SUV offered in SLE, SLT and new-for-2013 Denali trim levels. Buyers can select from a standard 182-horsepower, 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine or an optional 301-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine. A 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive are standard; all-wheel drive is available as an option. Maximum cargo capacity measures 63.9 cubic feet.

2013 GMC Yukon

The 2013 GMC Yukon is a traditional, full-size SUV equipped with 3 rows of seats, 8-passenger capacity, and a standard V-8 engine. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with 4-wheel drive optional. The Yukon is offered in SLE, SLT, Hybrid, and Denali trim levels. A 320-horsepower, 5.3-liter V-8 engine is standard on SLE and SLT trims, while the Yukon Denali is equipped with a 6.2-liter V-8 that generates 403 horsepower. The Yukon Hybrid has a 332-horsepower gas-electric powertrain rated to get 21 mpg in combined driving. Maximum towing capacity measures 8,500 pounds, and a Yukon can carry as much as 108.9 cubic feet of cargo with the third-row seat removed and the second-row seat folded down.

2013 GMC Yukon XL

The GMC Yukon XL is an extended-length version of the GMC Yukon, and provides extra passenger room and cargo carrying capability that the regular-length Yukon doesn't offer. It also comes in a heavy-duty 2500-series model that includes additional towing and payload capacity. Trim levels include SLE, SLT and Denali, and buyers can choose from one of three V-8 engines that drive the rear or all four wheels through an automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity is 9,600 pounds, and the Yukon XL can carry up to 2,450 pounds of payload.
