2017 Volvo Ratings, Reviews and Awards

After several years of making over its engines to be smaller for fuel efficiency without sacrificing power, Volvo continued to slowly remove any of its own left on the market by stopping production of the S60’s and XC60’s 5-cylinder. The changes to other carried-over models from 2016 were minimal, including an all-wheel-drive option for the S60 and V60 and two new trim levels for the XC90, a luxury SUV now in its second model year: a base model, T5, and a high-end trim, T8 Excellence. Volvo’s newest and most prominent venture was the introduction of the S90, which replaced its S80 sedan but loaded up the features of its predecessor. The S90 entered the lineup with an option for front-wheel or all-wheel-drive, a self-driving system, turbocharged and supercharged engine options, and a host of standard safety features like adaptive cruise control, large animal detection, and blind spot monitoring.
