For 2017, the GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD are now offered with a more potent Duramax 6.6-liter turbocharged diesel engine. The upgraded diesel engine paired with the 2017 Sierra HD generates 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque (a 19 percent increase over the 2016 Duramax powerplant). Available with Sierra HD SLT trim levels, the All Terrain X HD package adds a bed-mounted sport bar and Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires. A capless fuel filler is now standard on all 2017 GMC Sierra and gasoline-powered Sierra HD pickup trucks. Three new packages have been added to the GMC Canyon lineup for 2017. The most significant introduction for the GMC mid-sized truck is the luxury-appointed Denali. A unique chrome grille, 20-inch aluminum wheels as well as heated and ventilated front seats are some of the premium equipment on the 2017 GMC Canyon Denali. An Canyon All Terrain X package consists of off-roading features such as Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires and Hill Descent Control. The third and final new addition package to the GMC Canyon for 2017 is a Nightfall Edition outfitted with body-color matching grille and polished exhaust tip.
