Leaving 2016 as the best-selling truck in the United States for 40 years running, the Ford F-150 treks into 2017 model year with even greater authority. Starting in 2017, a 10-speed automatic transmission is now offered with a more potent 3.5-liter EcoBoost engined. The 2017 model year also marks the debut of an all-new high-performance, off-road capable Raptor. Equipped with an EcoBoost powerplant generating 500 pound-feet of torque, the Ford F-150 Raptor's suspension and tires allow the truck to challenge a wide range of terrains. Also new for 2017 is a completely re-engineered F-Series Super Duty lineup. Now featuring military-grade, aluminum alloy body panels and a boxed frame using extensive high-strength steel, the 2017 Super Duty line is lighter but incorporates greater towing and hauling abilities.
