Performance for the 2009 Mazda Tribute compact sport utility vehicle has been strengthened. Replacing the base 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, a 2.5-liter powerplant generates 171 horsepower. This larger displacement engine is also found in the Tribute Hybrid combining with electric propulsion. The 2009 Tribute's optional six-cylinder engine now produces 240 horsepower.
