Borrowing a moniker from their past motorsport achievements, Bentley created a limited edition, high-powered model of the Continental GT that rocketed to new performance plateaus in 2010. The 2010 Bentley Continental Supersports was powered by a twin-turbocharged, 6.0-liter W-12 engine producing 621 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. In addition to running on gasoline, Continental Supersports was one of the first Bentley products that could run E85 blended gasoline (however, some early models sold in the United States omitted the FlexFuel capability). Complementing the engine power, the all-wheel drive Bentley Continental Supersports was fitted with lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels within Pirelli PZero ultra-high performance tires.
A larger front grille opening, standard carbon ceramic brakes and a revised suspension system were also included on the 2010 Bentley Continental Supersports. Shaving 243 pounds of weight through the use of lightweight components and the deletion of the rear seat bench, the Bentley Continental Supersports boosts a strong power-to-weight ratio. Claiming to run from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds, the 2010 Bentley Continental Supersports employed a six-speed automatic transmission featuring Quickshift technology.
