The 6.8L V8 that carries the nearly 6000-lb behemoth from 0-60 in about 5 seconds is based on decades-old architecture, but the current incarnation is the most powerful to come out of Crewe. New technology abounds, too, with Bluetooth connectivity, power heated massaging seats and sport-tuned automatic ride height control.

About Brooklands

Introduced in 2009 as a high-powered halo car for the super luxury brand, the Bentley Brooklands features an ultra-suave, high-torque persona. Previously used by Bentley as the name of their flagship sedan, the Brooklands name reappeared as a two-door coupe. A vehicle presenting a 5,853-pound curb weight, the 2009 Bentley Brooklands achieved a sleek luxury coupe appearance thanks to a low roofline and the absence of a roof B-pillar.

Incorporating high-end luxury touches, the 2009 Bentley Brooklands is a hand-built machine. Making the Brooklands most exceptional was the inclusion of a twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V-8 engine generating a massive 530 horsepower and a mammoth 774 pound-feet of torque. The eight-cylinder powerplant onboard the 2009 Brooklands was paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The 0 to 60 mile per hour acceleration for the Bentley Brooklands has been rated at five seconds. On a clear road, the Bentley Brooklands can achieve a top speed of 184 miles per hour.

For improved stopping power, a high-performance ceramic compose braking system is optional on the Brooklands. The interior of the Bentley Brooklands featured a hide trimmed roof lining and real wood veneers. Designed for four passengers, each occupant inside the 2009 Bentley Brooklands received their own climate controlled seating position. Intended as a limited production vehicle since introduction, only 550 examples of the Bentley Brooklands was built during the 2009 and 2010 model year (only 180 of those were directed to the United States).
