2008 Saturn Ratings, Reviews and Awards
The early aught's were a time of reinvention for Saturn, and 2008 was perhaps the pinnacle year for the company's cars. 2008 saw the introduction of the Astra sedan (which replaced the company's Ion sedan) as well as the introduction of a 4-cylinder Aura and a gas-electric hybrid Aura. Saturn also made updates to its three-row crossover SUV, the Outlook, for 2008. Those updates included the introduction of a rearview backup camera and XM satellite radio as a standard feature. The company's new car, the Astra, was its attempt to reclaim some of the compact car market. The Astra was built in Europe and offered firm steering and 18-inch wheels. Available in both a five-speed manual model and a four-speed automatic transmission, the Astra had a moonroof in the four-door edition and sport seating in the two-door version. The 138 horsepower engine wasn't the most powerful out there, but it did offer considerable fuel economy.
