2009 Aura

For 2009, the Saturn Aura has a few changes. The top-line XR model was V6 only in 2008, but a 2.4L 4-cylinder XR joins the Aura lineup. The 3.5L V6 engine in the Aura XR V6 has been replaced by a 3.6L V6 engine with variable valve timing, generating 252 hp. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard on all XE and XR Auras. Bluetooth hands-free access is now standard on XR trim, and optional on the XE. New exterior colors include Quick Silver, Polar White, Gold Mist, and Silver Moss.

2008 Aura

The introduction of a new XE four-cylinder model is the big news for Saturn's Aura line in 2008. Otherwise, all Auras get XM satellite radio, the XE V6 now has electronic stability control standard, and XE and XR models get a Driver Information Center with real-time fuel economy display. The optional Convenience Package now adds a heated, auto-dimming driver outside mirror, and the Ebony/Morocco Premium Trim Package now includes embossed accents on the steering wheel, shifter, and door inserts. There have also been some changes to the color palette: Red Jewel Tintcoat, Carbon Finish, and Deep Blue replace Berry Red, Onyx Black, and Midnight Blue.

2007 Aura

The Saturn Aura is an all-new mid-size sedan for 2007, replacing the L-Series. The Aura boasts more design-savvy appeal than the plainly styled L-Series, with a contemporary appearance and premium interior features, while the new Green Line model boasts an impressive EPA fuel economy figure of 35 mpg highway. The top Aura XR features a new six-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel-positioned paddles. Unlike former Saturn models, the Aura is a steel-bodied car and does not have the plastic body panels that were originally a selling point for Saturns.

About Aura

The Aura was launched in 2007 by Saturn, based on a Pontiac platform, offering a luxurious cabin, a beefy engine and a long list of optional add-ons. In 2008, a four-cylinder version was launched, stability control was made a standard feature on V6 models, and Satellite radio was offered with all models. The 3.5-liter V6 engine was shelved for 2009, but stability control and Bluetooth integration became standard features.
