New for 2016:Kia

The Kia brand is the sibling of South Korea’s Hyundai nameplate. Kia has been considered the sporty, less expensive brand, while Hyundai has been thought of as the larger, mass-market refined brand by auto enthusiasts. For 2016, some Kia models have received new value-conscious trim levels in addition to packages that include more connectivity, higher-end audio, advanced safety systems, sporty and luxury attributes, and new wheel designs.

Following is an overview of new or updated features for each 2016 Kia model:

  • New entry trim level added below Premium and Limited that features 18-in. alloy wheels, new headlight systems, navigation, 8-in. color touch screen, and integrated rear camera
  • Navigation is standard for all trim levels
  • Standard panoramic sunroof on Premium trim level
  • New Silky Silver exterior paint option for Limited trim level
  • Luxury Plus option package gains blind-spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert technology

  • Four new colors for Forte LX: Clear White, Silky Silver, Steel Blue, and Crimson Red
  • Remote keyless entry standard on LX
  • LX Popular package is available
  • New 3.0B audio system added
  • Rear-camera display on LX, EX
  • EX equipped with 17-in. alloy wheels
  • EX Premium package adds navigation

  • EX trim level includes standard LED lighting systems, 12-way adjustable driver’s seat and more, as well as a Premium audio package
  • Michelin 11 tires are available on select trim levels
  • 16-18 in. alloy wheels with four new unique wheel designs
  • Bi-xenon HID headlights with available Dynamic Bending Lamps

  • Rear backup camera display, upgraded navigation system with satellite radio and traffic updates, push-button start, leather seating surfaces with front seat heaters, and a power sunroof are all standard
  • Two-tone Designer black/gray package available only on EX trim level

  • Rio 5-door no longer offers 6-speed manual transmission

  • Exclaim (!) trim level standard equipment includes leather seats, 17-in. alloy wheels to replace 18 in. wheels, Premium package featuring navigation with 8-in. display, Infinity audio system, panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, special lighting systems, and advanced safety features

  • Soul EV-e is new and only available in California in two new colors: Clear White and Bright Silver
  • EV-e, EV, EV+ (plus) all have standard nozzle locking function for SAE AUX/USB port that is illuminated
  • EV, EV+ come in two exterior paint colors: Shadow Black and Bright Silver
  • EV+ is available with Sun & Fun package that includes panoramic sunroof, LED interior lighting, and speaker lights

  • New exterior colors: Shadow Black and Bright Silver
  • LX trim level features Popular package with touch-screen audio and rear camera displays and automatic on/off headlights
  • EX trim level comes standard with leather trim seats and push-button start with Smart Key
  • Premium package includes Infinity audio system; integrated, heated outside mirror turn signals; front fog lamps; cooled glove box and auto-dimming rearview mirror
  • SX trim level is equipped with leather-trimmed ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, and Homelink wireless control to remotely operate garage doors, front gates, home security system, interior lighting, and even appliances
