2015 Jaguar Overview

Jaguar's lineup of four models underwent significant changes in 2014, including the addition of the F-Type convertible, and two new models have been announced as coming to the U.S. market in calendar 2016; thus, the across-the-board changes for 2015 aren't extensive. The F-Type now comes in coupe form, as well as the convertible, and its top-of-the-line edition, the R coupe, offers a supercharged, 550-horsepower V-8 engine. The 2015 Jaguar XF boasts two new trim levels, and adds features as well.

The Jaguar XJ, the badge's flagship sedan, is virtually unchanged for 2015. This is the last year of production for the Jaguar XK, which loses a couple of trim levels and deletes and adds a few standard features.

2015 Jaguar F-Type

Introduced as a new model for 2014, the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) Jaguar F-Type 2-passenger soft-top convertible is available as a hardtop coupe, as well, for 2015. The 2015 F-Type convertible is offered in three trim levels: base, equipped with a 340-horsepower, supercharged V-6 engine; S, fitted with a 380-horsepower version of the same supercharged V-6; and the S V-8, which features a supercharged 8-cylinder engine that delivers 495 horsepower. The coupe comes in base, S, and R trim levels, with the R offering the most powerful engine: a 550-horsepower supercharged V-8.

The standard transmission on the F-Type is an 8-speed automatic with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Other standard equipment includes leather and suede upholstery, HID headlights, 18-in. alloy wheels, an infotainment system with 8-in. touch screen, and a navigation system. The mid-level F-Type S adds a selection of ambient lighting colors for the interior, 19-in. alloy wheels, and power-folding mirrors, while the F-Type S V-8 features 20-in. alloy wheels, full leather upholstery, memory settings for up to three drivers, and power front seats with 14-way adjustment. The R coupe comes with extensive mechanical and cosmetic upgrades, including selectable dynamic driving modes, electronic active differential with torque vectoring, heated seats, and a premium audio system. Many of these features are optional on the lower trim levels.

2015 Jaguar XF

For 2015, the Jaguar XF sedan adds two new trim levels-Sport and Portfolio-which means that this midsize luxury car is now available in no fewer than eight iterations. Trim levels are based mainly on differences in drivetrain, although of course non-mechanical upgrades are included on the upper trim levels. At the top of the pecking order is the XFR-S, an exclusive model featuring a supercharged, 5.0-liter V-8 engine tuned to deliver 550 horsepower, as well as substantial chassis and aerodynamic upgrades. The lineup also includes the XF 2.0, equipped with a 240-horsepower, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine; RWD and all-wheel-drive (AWD) versions of the XF 3.0, which feature a 340-horsepower, 3.0-liter supercharged V-6; XF 3.0 Sport, which adds bigger wheels, distinctive exterior styling cues, gloss black interior, and a selectable dynamic driving mode; and the XF 3.0 Portfolio, which features a more subdued exterior but adds adaptive headlights, automatic high-beams, premium leather upholstery with ventilated front seats, and a 17-speaker surround sound system. The XF Supercharged features a 470-horsepower V-8; the XFR cranks up the power to 510 horsepower. All engines-even the 550-horsepower XFR-S version-return 15 mpg in the city, 23 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined, according to the EPA.

2015 Jaguar XJ

Jaguar has made no mechanical revisions to its XJ sedan for 2015, which is available with a regular or a long wheelbase. Some very slight exterior cosmetic changes can be noticed. The 2015 Jaguar XJ is available in several trim levels, the differences among them based mainly on their drivetrains. At the top of the line, the XJR features a supercharged, 5.0-liter V-8 engine that produces 550 horsepower. XJ Supercharged variants feature the same engine, tuned to deliver 470 horsepower. A supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine that works with RWD and AWD is the standard engine for the base model XJ; it also powers all XJ Portfolio models.

Standard features on the base XJ include 19-in. wheels, adaptive self-leveling suspension, shift paddles, automatic bi-xenon headlights, keyless ignition and entry, sunroof, soft-close doors, and automatic climate control.
