Toyota is making some updates to the Tacoma lineup for the 2023 model year. The SR5 trim level is getting two new appearance packages: the Chrome package with 18-inch alloy wheels and the SX package with black over-fenders and black wheels. The V6 engine is now standard with keyless entry and a power-adjustable driver's seat on the SR5 trim, and every V6 model now comes with automatic dual-zone climate control. The Limited trim level is getting a power-adjustable driver's seat, the 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, Smart Key, and a 360-degree camera on Limited Double Cab Tacoma. The TRD Pro off-road model is getting a new exclusive Solar Octane color, and the TRD Sport is now available in Electric Lime paint. The TRD Off-Road crew cab with four-wheel drive and the V6 engine is a popular choice, and it comes standard with an electronic locking rear differential. Recommended is the Technology package with options, which includes upgraded front lighting with LED elements as well as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors.

For 2018 the Toyota Tacoma remains mostly the same but the few updates that have been made are major. The mid-size pickup gets many new standard active safety features with the "Toyota Safety Sense-P" which includes forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beams and adaptive cruise control. The 5-speed manual transmission has been discontinued on the SR and SR5 trim. TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road and Limited trims are now available with the Cement exterior color. TRD Pro models get the Cavalry Blue exterior color, which replaces Cement. Midnight Black replaces Black in all trims and all trims except for the TRD Pro get a revised grille.

Following a full redesign for 2016, the 2017 Toyota Tacoma carries over largely unchanged. New this year is a TRD Pro trim with a double cab and short bed, representing the pinnacle of Toyota off-road performance.

With a more muscular looking body and bold grill design, it's hard to miss the 2016 Tacoma. The interior has also seen major improvements with surprisingly comfortable seats, a wealth of technology and lower noise levels. The 2016 Tacoma gains refinement while losing none of the utilitarian ruggedness that's made it such a hit.

Ahead of a major redesign slated for next year, the 2015 Toyota Tacoma has only minor changes. Notably, the regular cab model has been dropped, leaving only the extended Access Cab and the 4-door Double Cab. Elsewhere, a new off-road TRD Pro package has joined the lineup.

It adds SofTex-trimmed heated front sport seats, a 4-way-adjustable driver's seat, variable-speed wipers, a metallic-tone instrument panel trim, a leather steering wheel with audio controls, a HomeLink universal garage-door opener and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with rear camera display and outside temperature gauge. On the outside, the package also steps up to 18-inch chrome-clad wheels, a chrome grille surround and rear bumper, chrome door handles, chrome mirrors with integrated turn-signal indicators and fog lamps.

The 2012 model year brings a host of updates to the Tacoma line up. The exterior styling has been updated with a new look at the front of the vehicle. A new hood, grill and headlights along with new upper and lower bumper areas make this year's truck to stand out from previous versions. The interior has also been updated with new materials for the center console and door trim. For those who ordered a backup camera, the screen has now grown from 2.4 inches to 3.3 inches. New interior options include heavy-duty all-weather flooring for access cab and double cab versions and water resistant fabric protection seats for the TRD sport and Off-Road models. A couple of new, high-tech audio systems are also newly available for 2012, proving that utility doesn't always have to come at the cost of entertainment.

For 2011, the compact Toyota Tacoma pickup gets new TX and TX Pro packages, which add a combination of official Toyota Racing Development (TRD) off-road and appearance accessories to the Tacoma's Off-Road Package. All Tacoma models get a slightly new look to the grille, and air conditioning is now standard on all models. Also, Toyota has cut several unpopular models out of the line and added five 4-cylinder models, including PreRunner and 4x4 models, as well as Access Cab and Double Cab styles.

There's only one new thing for the 2010 Tacoma: an enhanced cup holder. Otherwise, all equipment remains the same from 2009.
