2012 Scion iQ trims

2012 iQ

The Scion iQ is a new model for 2012. The diminutive car is technically a 4-seater, though it's best to plan on two adults plus their stuff for any sort of trip. The iQ is designed as a purely urban machine with the commuter in mind. To that end, it features a 94-hp 1.3L inline-4 and returns an impressive 36 mpg city, 37 mpg highway. Like all Scions, the iQ comes packed with plenty of standard features and is eminently customizable. At just over $15,000, the iQ promises to deliver great value.

About iQ

Scion thought small in 2012 when it came to creating a production vehicle combining micro-subcompact size with the brand's trademark value. The 2012 Scion iQ debuted as the world's smallest four-passenger car measuring just 120.1 inches in total length. Easy to park and navigate through urban environments, the driver of the iQ was also advantaged with the tightness of a 26.6 feet turning diameter. While the car was advertised as four-seater, the 3+1 offset seating arrangement meant a tight fit for occupants behind the driver. Inside, safety protection was delivered by total of 11 standard air bags. Propelled by a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a continuously variable transmission, the ultra-compact Scion iQ could travel up to 37 miles on a highway using a single gallon of gasoline. For 2014, a limited number of Silver Ignition painted 10 Series iQs celebrated the 10th anniversary of Scion complete with 16-inch alloy wheels and a jack knife key. The final year of sales for the Scion iQ was in 2015 with 15,695 units sold.
