The Aurora by Oldsmobile saw nominal changes in 1998. But in 1999, dual airbags, ABS and traction control were made standard features alongside a newer and more provocative body style. The 2000 model year saw the addition of standard daytime running lights. Resized and bigger front brakes, and the addition of an in-dash CD player with a Bose audio system, in addition to a technologically advanced rearview mirror with garage door opener and compass, complemented the 2001 Aurora. The 2002-2003 model years saw upgraded next-gen airbags, the addition of three new body colors and a quieter engine, thanks to upgraded hydraulic engine mounts.
