For 2026, the Nissan Pathfinder receives a comprehensive styling refresh that updates both its exterior and interior design. On the outside, the SUV features a redesigned grille, revised front and rear bumpers, updated exterior lighting elements, and new wheel designs. Inside the cabin, enhancements include a new, larger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a more powerful wireless smartphone charging pad, and the introduction of more premium materials for the flagship Platinum trim.

After a brief hiatus in 2021 the Nissan Pathfinder returns in 2022 completely redesigned with an updated interior and exterior.

For 2020, Nissan has no significant upgrades for the Pathfinder SUV.

For 2019, Nissan has upgraded the Pathfinder SUV with expanded availability of safety and convenience features. A rear sonar system is standard on all trims, while intelligent cruise control, blind-spot warning and rear cross traffic alert are now standard on the SV, SL and Platinum trims. Meanwhile, LED headlights are standard on SL and Platinum trims.

After a robust and thorough update in 2017, Nissan has continued to build upon the Pathfinder platform in 2018 by adding automatic emergency braking as standard equipment and a system called Rear Door Alert that helps remind drivers of anything they may be forgetting in the back seat, including children and pets.

The Pathfinder gets several important upgrades for 2017, the most noticeable of which is the new front end styling. Now featuring Nissan's signature "Boomerang" headlights, the Pathfinder looks more aggressive and sleek. Equally important are the changes going on beneath its sheet metal. A redesigned V6 now powers the Pathfinder making 24 more horsepower than the outgoing engine while simultaneously delivering more fuel economy on the highway. Other enhancements for 2017 include new driver assistance technologies such as a Forward Emergency Braking system, an Intelligent Cruise Control system and an Around View Monitor system. In addition, a top of the line Midnight Edition is available this year, with black exterior accents and mean looking, 20-inch black wheels.

The Nissan Pathfinder enters 2016 mostly unchanged. New this year is revised Almond interior with contrasting black and beige materials. The SV offers a Cold Package, with heated front seats, steering wheel, and mirrors, while the SL now features a heated steering wheel as standard. The Pathfinder hybrid has been discontinued.

After a full redesign just a couple of years ago, the Nissan Pathfinder enters 2015 mostly unchanged. However, Nissan have continued to make minor refinements the vehicle over the past couple of years and 2015 is no exception. New available features include a Blind Spot Warning system, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and a hill descent mode. A new option package, the Family Entertainment Package has also been introduced, featuring a DVD entertainment system. In addition, the Xtronic transmission has also been reprogrammed to feel smoother, without compromising fuel efficiency for 2015.

The Pathfinder gains a hybrid powertrain in both 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive models.

The Pathfinder is all new for 2013, featuring an attractive and modern redesign, seating for seven and a CVT gearbox. 2013's sheetmetal is all new and the aerodynamic shape helps the Pathfinder achieve good mileage numbers for such a large vehicle. With a bigger interior than last year's model, the new Pathfinder becomes less like a truck and more like a comfortable crossover.

The 2012 Pathfinder is virtually identical to the 2011 model. The few changes include an optional DVD package and DVD Entertainment system on the V6 Silver. A new 9.3GB hard-drive music server appears on the V6 LE.

New to the Pathfinder lineup for 2011 is a new Silver Edition, which celebrates the model's 25th anniversary with a number of premium features like leather heated seats, 10-speaker Bose premium sound and Nissan's Intelligent Key system. Also for 2011, a new Pathfinder SV model replaces last year's SE and one new exterior hue--Espresso Black--has been added to the Pathfinder's palette of colors for 2011.

For 2010, Nissan's popular Pathfinder SUV receives mostly superficial changes. A moonroof is now standard on the LE V6, while navigation is now standard on the LE V8. A new LE V8 Value Package features a DVD player, 7-inch color monitor for rear passengers and a moonroof. A new SE Premium Journey Package includes 17-inch machined aluminum-alloy wheels, a rear view Monitor, roof rack crossbars, a 10-speaker Bose stereo system, XM satellite radio capability, Bluetooth and Intelligent Key. Dark Slate has been added as a new exterior color and the SE V6 Off Road model has been dropped.

After its make-over last year, the 2009 Nissan Pathfinder sees only minor modifications. For 2009 the Pathfinder gets more standard airbags, two new additions to the exterior color palette and a few alterations in equipment availability.

A V8 engine is available in the Nissan Pathfinder for the first time for 2008; the existing V6 is still available, too, and both engines can be equipped with rear- or four-wheel drive. The Pathfinder also gets a new look in front and in back, and new wheel designs and two new exterior colors--White Frost and Mocha--join the lineup along with one new interior color, Russet. Inside, there's a redesigned center-console area, a restyled instrument panel, a new reclining second-row seat, and illuminated switchgear. The Intelligent Key entry system, a navigation system with Music Box hard-drive system, and a heated steering wheel are among the new options.

Due to the change in the ratings of the 2007 models, the engine outputs on the Nissan Pathfinder are lower, but really haven't changed. The 4.0L V6 engine was rated at 270 horsepower and 291 ft-lbs, and is now rated at 266 horsepower and 288 ft-lbs of torque. On the Pathfinder S, cruise control and a roof rack are now standard.
