Lincoln MKT Model Years and History

The 2019 Lincoln MKT simplifies its lineup by removing its base V6 engine and front-wheel drive platform. New standard features include a heated steering wheel, an optional THX II audio system, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. The 2019's starting price also increases by almost $6,000.

The 2018 Lincoln MKT gets three new exterior colors: Blue Diamond Metallic, Iced Mocha Metallic and Ivory Pearl Metallic.

The Lincoln MKT is unchanged from last year.

The Lincoln MKT carries over into 2016 largely unchanged, though the SYNC 3 infotainment replaces the previous SYNC with MyLincoln Touch.

The Lincoln MKT carries over into 2015 unchanged. Models ordered with the Elite package now come with a 6-year subscription to SiriusXM Satellite radio.

The Lincoln MKT is essentially unchanged for 2014.

For 2012, the Lincoln MKT gets a new Continuously Controlled Damping, a computer-controlled system that can adjust the firmness of the suspension 20 times per second and enables the Lincoln MKT to corner better and also have a smoother ride. Also new is Lincoln Drive Control, a system that lets the driver tune the suspension, steering, and other vehicle responses; and the Lincoln MKT gets a quicker steering ratio. The standard engine in the Lincoln MKT gets a 10-percent increase in horsepower for 2013, while its highway fuel efficiency actually goes up by one. Brakes have also been upgraded to match the extra engine power. The MyLincoln Touch interface has also been added to the Lincoln MKT's instrument panel, while second-row passengers get new inflatable seatbelts. Also, several new active-safety features add to the Lincoln MKT's family appeal and, for the first time, the Lincoln MKT is offered in a Town Car Livery and Limousine Edition for 2013.

Later in the model year Lincoln will begin offering an Lincoln MKT Town Car to fleets and limo companies. The livery-duty version will be the official replacement for the long-running Lincoln Town Car sedan, which goes out of production this fall.

Introduced last year, there are no changes of note to the 2011 LINCOLN MKT. The grill appears to be a bit more pronounced, and MyLincoln Touch, a new Ford interface technology, should be available in all LINCOLN MKT trims for 2011.

The boxy Lincoln MKT is an all-new full-size crossover SUV with seating for up to seven. It is closely related to the Ford Flex.
