During the 2007 model year, buyers were offered a last chance to buy a new version of the pickup truck on the previous generation with the availability of the GMC Sierra 1500 Classic. Offered with regular, extended and crew cab configurations, the 2007 Sierra 1500 Classic also came with three different bed lengths.
Available with rear-wheel or four-wheel drivetrains, the GMC Sierra 1500 Classic came featured a choice of three Vortec engines. The base powerplant offered on the 2007 Sierra 1500 Classic was a 195-horsepower 4.3-liter V-6. Available eight-cylinder engine power coming from a 4.8-liter and 5.3-liter engine could also be equipped on the pickup truck. Generating up to 295 horsepower and 335 pound-feet of torque, the 5.3-liter V-8 engine was also offered as a FlexFuel compatible version capable of running E85 blended gasoline. A VortecMAX Performance Package was also offered on the Sierra 1500 Classic consisting of a high-output 6.0-liter V-8 engine producing 345 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque.
The GMC Sierra 1500 Classic’s VortecMAX Performance Package allowed up to 10,000 pounds to be towed by the pickup truck. Engine power of the 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 Classic was paired with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system and AM/FM stereo unit was standard equipment on the Sierra 1500 Classic. Available equipment on the 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 Classic included a CD player, air conditioning, towing package and the Z71 off-road package. The GMC Sierra 1500 Classic was offered only for one year.
