About Fusion Hybrid

Starting in 2010, Ford introduced a new technologically-advanced version of their Fusion sedan in reaction to a growing environmentally-minded and economically-minded consumer base. The Ford Fusion Hybrid debuted while several popular family sedans such as the Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima being offered with gasoline/electric hybrid powerplants. Only the second hybrid vehicle to be mass-produced wearing the blue oval badge in the United States, the 2010 Fusion Hybrid was propelled by a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder gasoline engine working in concert with an electric motor powered by a nickel-metal hydride battery. According to Ford, the sedan could achieve 41 miles per gallon fuel economy during city driving. Another than its powerplant, a SmartGauge with EcoGuide instrument display and badging, the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid's appearance was similar to a well-equipped gasoline-only model. In 2013, an all-new Ford Fusion influenced by Aston Martin included a radically revised hybrid lineup. The 2013 Fusion Hybrid featured a powertrain using 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as well as electrical propulsion operated through lithium-ion battery technology. Generating a combined 188 horsepower, the updated 2013 sedan's fuel economy was rated at 42 miles per gallon overall with city and highway driving. The 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid features an extensively refreshed exterior and interior appearance as well as standard EcoSelect that optimizes the vehicle's functions for highest operating efficiency.
