After its facelift last year, the Fusion continues into 2020 with only minor changes to the lineup. The Sport model is no longer available for this year, though the Co-Pilot 360 suite of safety options that was introduced last year as standard equipment continues as such for this year.

The 2019 Ford Fusion receives a minor face-lift heading into the new year. Both front and rear facias are new along with a bold new grille design and more aggressive trunk lid adding focus to the new LED taillights. Ford's Co-Pilot360 system has also been integrated adding voice-activated navigation, Sirius XM and TrafficLink for live traffic updates. This year's plug-in Hybrid Fusion Energi has a better battery that's good for 25 miles of all-electric cruising, an increase of nearly 20 percent. Last, the Fusion Titanium and Hybrid models now have adaptive cruise control (with stop-and-go), while all SE and above Fusions benefit from 4G LTE Wi-Fi and Sync 3 with an 8-inch touch screen.

In 2013, an all-new Ford Fusion influenced by Aston Martin included a radically revised hybrid lineup. The 2013 Fusion Hybrid featured a powertrain using 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as well as electrical propulsion operated through lithium-ion battery technology. Generating a combined 188 horsepower, the updated 2013 sedan's fuel economy was rated at 42 miles per gallon overall with city and highway driving. The 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid features an extensively refreshed exterior and interior appearance as well as standard EcoSelect that optimizes the vehicle's functions for highest operating efficiency.
