Attempting to balance their unique blend of luxury and performance, Lexus has sharply stood out in the premium personal vehicle segment. The first coupes Lexus promoted was a rear-wheel drive sporting a highly aerodynamically efficient shape and some construction shared with the Toyota Supra. The SC 400 premiered in 1992 with a 4.0-liter V-8 engine while a six-cylinder SC 300 coupe soon followed. For 2001, the Lexus SC 430 was introduced as a high-class hardtop convertible. After SC 430 production wrapped in 2010, Lexus replaced with a two-door hardtop convertible in their IS range. Recently, the Lexus RC represents the first fixed-roof coupe offered by the brand since 2000. The RC is offered with four-cylinder and six-cylinder engine power while an RC F model is propelled by a high-performance V-8.
