2016 Honda Civic Review

Overview
With a storied heritage 40 years in the making the Honda Civic pushes the boundaries with its agility fuel efficiency and dynamic styling. It’s a Kelley Blue Book “Best Buy” and an AutoGuide car of the year. And because it’s a Honda longevity comes standard. Choose from 5 models starting at $18 640 for the LX; the top of the line Touring starts at $26 500. The Civic EX-T and models above feature a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine for high cruise efficiency and a 42 highway miles per gallon rating. Inside you can see what song’s playing who’s calling and more with a quick glance at a color screen right behind the steering wheel. It’s a Driver Information Interface that keeps you in the know. Honda’s legendary safety features continue with things like Driver Assist Technologies and Honda Sensing. You’ll be alerted and protected from the unexpected. It’s like having another set of eyes on the lookout. Personalize your Civic Sedan with a number of exterior colors interior options and Honda accessories. Slip into the sleeker smarter Honda Civic.
Technology
Connect to your vehicle with your smartphone and the available HondaLink. You can use HondaLink® to schedule service appointments and help keep your Civic in tip-top shape all through the convenience of your phone. Inside the available 7-Inch Display Audio with Touch-Screen lets you touch pinch and swipe your way through your music podcasts and more. Change the music or take a call without ever taking your eyes off the road thanks to the Civic’s convenient steering wheel controls.
Safety
Those long commutes become a little safer with the available Lane Keeping Assist System. It knows if you begin to stray from the center of a detected lane without signaling the steering then adjusts to bring you back to the middle of the road. With the Multi-Angle Rearview Camera you’ll know what’s behind you with three different angles: normal top-down and wide. For another level of safety the optional Collision Mitigation Braking System helps bring the Civic to a stop when it senses an unavoidable collision with a car in front of you.
Performance
The 2.0-Liter DOHC i-VTEC 4-Cylinder Engine in the LX and EX models pumps out 158 horsepower. And the 1.5-Liter Turbocharged Dual Overhead Cam 4-Cylinder Engine with Direct Injection provides 174 horsepower in the EX-T model and above. An available 1.5-liter turbocharged engine provides for a high cruise efficiency and robust performance. When paired with the Continuously Variable Transmission you’ll see an estimated 42 miles per gallon on the highway. Improvements to the power steering and rear suspension offer a smoother ride without compromising fun.
