2008 Saab Ratings, Reviews and Awards

2008 gave Saab a whole new lease on life, or so it seemed at first. The Swedish automaker, now owned by General Motors, made more than 2,000 changes and updates to its compact 9-3 series. The majority of the updates were "under the hood," meaning they wouldn't be obvious to the casual driver. One of the new updates was the introduction of the Cross-Wheel Drive (XWD) feature, a sort of all-wheel drive. Many of the new changes to the 9-3 for 2008 were inspired by Saab's Aero X concept car. Looks wise, the 2008 Saab 9-3 had restyled headlamps, a redesigned face and rain-seeking windshield wipers. Nearly three-quarters of the 9-3's body panels were completely new for 2008. Inside the car, the design is decidedly sporty, with black upholstery and a large odometer. Additional options included a moonroof and a DVD-controlled navigation system.
