2008 Kia Ratings, Reviews and Awards

Kia puts in a fairly conservative showing for 2008, with few major changes or model redesigns. The Amanti, the company's flagship sedan, performed with 264hp on a 3.8 L V-6 engine for a combined 20 mpg. The Optima, likewise, saw few changes in 2008, though it did ditch the cassette player in favor of an auxiliary jack, update the Supervision gauges, and finish the side mirrors in black. The 2008 Optima gets a combined 24-26 mpg on its 162hp 2.4 L engine, which comes in four-cylinders or the slightly more powerful V-6. Side curtain and side-impact airbags are standard, and there's a longer-than-average warranty. Another sedan from Kia, the Rio gets a whopping 29 combined mpg (the engine is small, producing just 110hp on 1.6 liters) and a few interior updates. The 2008 Seona is the brand's minivan and powers seven seats with a standard V-6 3.3 L that produces 242hp.
